We began playing cricket in 1993 with a handful of cricket lovers on a mud ground which took an hour of hard work every Sunday to fix a carpet to form a proper pitch. Our small team with passion for cricket carried on and from 1995 we started inviting other teams from Lanzarote and the neighboring islands to play matches. Our interest in cricket grew and grew, and in 2000 we approached the Ayuntamiento de Yaiza for availability of the football ground on Sundays. With this success and experience we registered our team on 14/05/2005 with the Canarian Government and formed ASSOCIATION LANZAROTE CRICKET CLUB and became an official cricket team here in Lanzarote. (registration number B35849769).

Playa Blanca cc was formed in 2005 and were one of three teams to compete in the first league. Unfortually we have lost many of the people who helped form the club but with the remaining 3 and and some new young talent Playa Blanca look set for a good year. The romours pre-season were that that we would struggle to compete this year due to a shortage of players but with the emergence of some new faces this is far from the case. Formed in 2006, a squad of players that had not played since their schooldays, Fishermans Cc failed to impress in the first season. In the 2nd season, having retained most of the players from the 1st season, we challenged the top teams but just lost out finishing third overall. This season with one or two additions to the squad and an excellent sponsor, we are regarded as one of the strongest teams in the league.
