Curtain comes down on season
The final competitive match of the 2011 season took place last Sunday at PDC with the annual presidents eleven playing the league champions ST Georges in a 30 over game. The president selected mostly 2 players from each side to compete with the champions.

LCA umpire at La Manga
The LCA are pleased to announce the appointment of level 1 ACO ECB umpire Craig Trapps to the umpiring panel for the forthcoming La Manga 20/20. Craig is also captain of the LCA 1st team.

Dragons brush aside LCC
The Dragons continued their good form this season by overcoming a depleted LCC team who could only raise 9 players in Yaiza last Sunday 17Th July. This year the Dragons led by Will Spencer have been the surprise package and find themselves competing for the championship in the top three.

JUNIOR CRICKET FESTIVAL
A special Youth Day on the 15th of May which will be held in Puerto del Carmen as part of the Festival of Cricket organised by Cricket España to promote cricket to youths throughout Spain. Boys and girls from Lanzarote are invited to take part in the Youth Day from the ages of 5 to 16 years old.

ST GEORGES KNIGHTS V PLAYA BLANCA
The long awaited start of the Lanzarote cricket league started on Sunday (1st may) and started with a bang as records were broken left right and centre. St Georges knights and playa Blanca were the teams fighting it out on the first day and they didn't disappoint a good crowd at the football ground in puerto del carmen.

Final warm up game before Madrid 20/twenty
The Lanzarote select side played their final warm up 20/20 game before jetting off to the mainland to take part in the Madrid 20/20 in La Manga. It was a selected XI from the island who would provide stern opposition captained by former LCA captain Des stonier.

UMPIRES COURSE IN MADRID
After a recent course held in Madrid by ECB ACO we now have three qualified umpires on the island. Paul Jones (head of umpires/director of cricket) Geoff Dean (president of the LCA) and Craig Trapps (LCA captain) all attended the course which concluded with a 50 question exam and all three passed and are now level 1 umpires.

LCA captain decided for 2011
After an LCA meeting it has been decided that Craig Trapps will continue with his role as LCA captain for 2011. The LCA 1st eleven were beaten only once last year by Tenerife in a twenty 20 game.

F15 regional tournament 2011
Fasten your seat belts folks because on the 27Th February we see the return of the regional F15 a tournament which sees players from different clubs join in regional sides to compete for the regional F15 trophy. This format has been hugely popular with both players and supporters and is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat ! last years champions the north will again be led by LCA captain Craig trapps, the midlands will be captained by Des stonier, Jamie rogerson will take charge of the southerners and this years job of leading the rest of the world goes to commitments David.
